The future leader of the faction can be appointed, but a prince who is deprived of an inheritance has some characteristics reduced.
In the game it is possible to hire mercenary units. A family member can do this. A notable innovation is the availability of these units in any part of the map. The units available for hire depend solely on the location of your general.Mercenaries, like regular troops, require money for their maintenance every turn. It is impossible to replenish the number of mercenary units in cities, but you can improve their characteristics.

Plot:
The goal of the strategic part is to capture Rome and 50 provinces (in the imperial campaign) or destroy any specific faction.
Fight:
Any battle consists of three stages:

— Building an army. The player must place units in the most convenient position for battle
— The battle itself. The fight during which the winner is determined.
Also the battles have time, the battle time is 13-40 minutes.All naval battles take place automatically, and the player cannot have any influence on the outcome of the battle. You can play naval battles in Empire: Total War.
